I’ve already voiced my support for Raygun and the Breaking Community so it would come as no surprise that not only am I a supporter of Raygun’s Dance-Off Challenge but an admirer of her ease at “making lemonade when life gives you lemons”.
Let me clarify that my reference to 'lemons' pertains only to some of the public's reaction to Raygun’s Paris 2024 appearance and is in no way an indication of her performance or her response to the public's reactions.
In supporting Raygun’s Dance-Off Challenge, I am supporting all that the Breaking Community embodies including resilience, unity, self-expression, and a deep respect for authenticity and skill.
Breaking brings people together from diverse backgrounds around a shared passion. They are a tight-knit community which is particularly highlighted by Cyphers (dance circles) and battles that create spaces where dancers learn from and encourage one another, even in competition.
Breaking culture champions creativity, encouraging dancers to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
As Breaking continues to evolve some of its core principles remain - respect and acknowledgement of tradition, support for self-expression and Individuality, an appreciation for resilience and discipline and encouragement of creativity and Innovation.
The diversity of the Breaking community epitomises Jo Cox’s quote “We have far more in common than we don’t”.
