Quite simply Orange Sky provides DIGNITY to people.
It’s hard to articulate dignity but dignity is fundamental to human well-being ,shaping both how someone views themselves and how they are treated by others. Dignity reflects a sense of self-worth, respect and honour, contributing to a person's confidence, integrity, and sense of identity.
Can the opportunity to have clean clothes and a hot shower contribute towards someone’s dignity? Absolutely!
Orange Sky’s2022/23 impact report lists 37 locations, 24,031 people positively connected,$17.33m delivered in social impact. Across 13,056 shifts and 2,788 volunteers 77,058loads of laundry, 96,878 hours off conversation and 6,606 showers have been delivered to help 21,439 friends.
But Orange Sky not only offers dignity, by its very nature it offers opportunity.
Opportunity is a chance or set of circumstances that allow someone to achieve something or make progress.
