Clear blue skies, sun-kissed beaches, and stunning aerial displays – the2024 Gold Coast Pacific Airshow delivered so much more than I expected. As a first-time Airshow attendee, I was eager to see what all the hype was about.
The setting couldn’t have been more perfect, the combination of sparkling blue seas and clear skies created a stunning backdrop. The boats bobbing gently on the ocean just behind the surf break was a stark contrast to the high-octane performances in the sky.
From the moment the first aircraft roared overhead, I was hooked. I love the Gold Coast for its vibrant atmosphere and natural beauty and Airshow harnessed and showcased both wonderfully.
The planes flew so low over the water if you were lucky enough to be on a boat it looked like you could reach out and almost touch them. Note to oneself: explore boat viewing options for 2025 Gold Coast Pacific Airshow.
Whether it was a solo performer looping through the air, a trio of planes flying in perfect coordination, jet or propeller the artistry on display was awe-inspiring but for me the most exhilarating of all the daring stunts were the vertical holds.
The event is family-friendly, offering something for people of all ages and budgets to enjoy. The ticketed areas for viewing are just one option. I, along with 100’s of others viewed Sunday’s show for free on the golden sands at Northcliffe.
Beyond the thrills and excitement, the Pacific Airshow brought so much to the Gold Coast community. With more than $25m injected into the Gold Coast economy from 2023 Airshow and an increase in visitors and media coverage this year the benefits to the Gold Coast will continue to grow.
As a first-timer at the Gold Coast Pacific Airshow, I can confidently say that it won’t be my last. This event is a must-see, and I can’t wait for its return next year to experience the thrill all over again. If you’ve never been to an Airshow, trust me – this is the one to start with!
